Ahmedabad April 08,2025 – In a remarkable effort to spread the message of universal well-being, JITO Ahmedabad and the Jain community are organising the ‘Vishwa Navkar Mahamantra Day’ on April 9, 2025. This spiritual initiative is rooted in the essence of the Navkar Mantra, which promotes love, respect, and non-violence towards all living beings. These values align with the core principles of many religions and aim to inspire harmony and peace across society.
The main event will occur at the Gujarat University Grounds – GMDC near Helmet Circle in Ahmedabad, beginning at 7:01 AM. This mass chanting of the Navkar Mahamantra is expected to create a spiritual impact and mark a historic record through collective participation.
On this significant occasion, Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will address the nation virtually from Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi, during the central JITO Apex program. The event will also be graced by Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Home Shri Harsh Sanghavi, and Mr Sudhir Mehta of the Torrent Group. Leaders and saints from all Jain sects, including Shwetambar, Digambar, Terapanthi, and Sthanakvasi, will join the event. Revered Acharyas, Gachchhadhipatis, Sadhus, and Sadhvijis will bless the gathering with their presence.
JITO Chairman Rishabh Patel, Steering Committee Member and Convenor Asit Shah, and prominent leaders of various Jain organisations will also attend the event. Before the main event, a Kalash Yatra commenced across Ahmedabad and will conclude at the GMDC venue. Thousands of sacred Kalash have been distributed to Jain temples and homes, where devotees have performed rituals and chanted the Navkar Mantra in devotion. On April 9 , numerous community groups will bring their Kalash to the venue for collective mantra chanting.
The Navkar Mantra holds immense spiritual significance in Jainism. Regular chanting brings mental peace, eliminates stress and negative emotions, enhances positive karma, and leads the soul toward liberation. It also promotes self-realisation, helps fulfil desires, and encourages individuals to walk the path of righteousness. Because of its universal message of peace and compassion, the mantra is highly regarded in Hinduism, Buddhism, and other spiritual traditions.
More than 25,000 people are expected to gather at GMDC Ground, with millions joining virtually from India and worldwide. The event will be live-streamed at over 6,000 Jain temples (Derasars), Upashrayas, and spiritual centres globally, ensuring broad participation and reach.
April 9 is set to become a historic and unifying day for the country. With people from diverse backgrounds coming together, the event will break social barriers and spread a message of unity and goodwill worldwide. Through this initiative, the Jain community and the JITO family aim to take the vision of global well-being to every corner of society.
