Even if the beloved movie’s performance was its high point, the screenplay written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra was crucial to the movie’s box office success.

The film has wrapped off its illustrious 100-day run in theaters throughout the country.

In celebration of the movie’s successful theatrical run, the producers allegedly threw a special screening for the students of the film schools. During the screening, rumors circulated that Vinod Chopra wrote 139 drafts of the movie before settling on the script that was eventually chosen. He drafted several versions, some of which were rejected and subsequently rewritten; as a result, he locked the film’s final screenplay throughout this process.

“I had a dream that one day if I die, I would love to die in front of the CDs and DVDs of all my films,” he even said during the ceremony.

“The one thing that matters is the intention, for which you’re making a film and to what extent you’re achieving that intention,” Vidhu Vinod Chopra said.

The subject matter and narrative of the movie have helped viewers to once again believe in the exceptional substance of Indian cinema.

Based on a genuine event, 12th Fail explores the challenges faced by millions of students attempting to pass the UPSC entrance test. However, it also motivates individuals to try again and not give up in the face of failure. It extends beyond just that one test.

The Vidhu Vinod Chopra-directed movie is now showing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada theaters.
