<p>Speaking candidly about Pooja Bhatt’s drinking habit, Mahesh Bhatt said how it was his one text message that encouraged her to go sober. Pooja has been open about her battle with drinking throughout the years. Pooja has discussed her fight and road to sobriety even as a Bigg Boss OTT contestant. Mahesh spoke about his drinking issue and how he fights it in a recent interview. He brought up Pooja’s drinking problem. He said that he texted her once, which altered her decision in life.</p>

<p>Mahesh told The Indian Express that when Pooja texted him, he was on vacation with Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, and Soni Razdan. Mahesh gave her a straightforward but firm warning to quit drinking just as they were about to fight.</p>
<p>“I once planned a vacation to the Maldives with Soni, Shaheen, Alia, and myself. Pooja was going through a depressing period and would not stop telling me how much she loved me. We were messaging back and forth. I texted Bhatt just before takeoff, saying, “If you love me, then love yourself because I live in you.”</p>
<p>She felt something from that message. I was aware of her lack of self-love. When there’s anything about yourself that you don’t like, you abuse yourself with booze. My SMS just went through,” he continued.</p>
<p>According to the director, at first he was staying out of the matter. “(People said), ‘You need to warn Pooja that she is drinking too much.’ However, I would inform them that because she has my DNA, we tend to do things to excess. I assured them that I would never step in and advise her on what to do or not do. Bhatt said, “I have no business sitting on a high horse and taking a holier-than-thou position because I have broken every law in the book.”</p>
<p>Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Pooja comes from his first marriage to Kiran Bhatt.</p>
