Indian Pacer Receives Huge Praise from David Warner Following Delhi Capitals' Victory

Share

Ishant Sharma, a seasoned pacer, and the rest of Delhi Capitals' bowlers performed well as they held off the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans by successfully defending a 131-run mark. Regarding his bowlers, Warner had nothing but praise for Ishant, who claimed two crucial victims, including the dangerous Rahul Tewatia.

Mohammed Shami's blistering spell of 4/11, which also earned the Indian bowler the title of “Player of the Match,” limited Delhi, who batted first, to just 130 runs on the scoreboard.

However, DC's bowlers maintained composure and helped their team earn a significant victory, their third of the IPL 2023 season.

In his remarks at the post-game awards ceremony, Warner said that Ishant and Khaleel Ahmed both performed well and that the latter in particular was becoming 'forever younger'.

“Khaleel fared well during his injury recovery, and Ishant is growing younger. Tewatia has a history for doing things like that, so I was anxious when he started to go off. Although Anrich is our most reliable death bowler, he struggled today. However, Ishant was very clear about what he wanted to do for us, according to the 36-year-old.

Aman Hakim Khan, who scored fifty runs, and Ripal Patel, whose 23-run innings in 13 balls helped DC to a reasonable total after Shami had troubled Delhi's middle order, received praise from David as well.

Our bowlers were fantastic. Although our batters had trouble, Shami's bowling deserves praise. Aman and Ripal deserve praise for how they continued to play to increase the score. I detest runouts because we constantly manage to lose wickets in groups. What is going on with our batting is a mystery to me. Today, we attempted to play constructively with the bat, but it didn't work. Then, according to Warner, “we wanted to come out and swing the ball and get early wickets.”

In order to earn a remarkable 5-run victory against Gujarat, Ishant brilliantly contained 12 runs in the last over by grabbing Rahul's wicket and allowing only 6 runs to be scored.
