Without mentioning the names of legends like the late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Radhakishan Damani, Vijay Kedia, Ashish Kochalia, and Dolly Khanna, any conversation about seasoned stock market investors would fall short. Many young investors, however, have made a fortune through stock trading despite being relatively inexperienced. Sankarsh Chanda, a 24-year-old Hyderabad resident who has made Rs 100 crore from the stock market, is one of them. The list of the biggest investors in the world now includes his name.
Sankarsh did not have to experience the early loss-inducing phase that practically all investors go through, whether it was fate or just sheer chance. At the age of 17, he made his first stock market investment with only Rs 2,000. He was studying for his B.Tech in computer science at Bennett University (Greater Noida) at the time. He did, however, put off finishing his schooling in order to pursue his ambition of becoming a stock market trader. In an interview, he said, “I invested roughly Rs 1.5 lakh in the stock market in two years, during which time the market value of my shares increased to Rs 13 lakh.”
Sankarsh is an entrepreneur in addition to an investor in the stock market. He established Savart or Svobodha Infinity Investment Advisors Private Limited, a fintech business. According to Sankarsh, reading an article by American economist Benjamin Graham piqued his interest in the stock market.
His company made Rs 12 lakh in income in its first year, Rs 14 lakh in its second, Rs 32 lakh in its third, and Rs 40 lakh in its fourth fiscal year (2020–2021).
Sankarsh's 2016 book Financial Nirvana, which he wrote, creates a distinction between business and investing. It also offers advice on understanding the market and diversifying your assets. The Intelligent Investor, Security Analysis, and The First Three Minutes of the Universe are the three books recommended by Sankarsh to readers who are interested in learning about money and investment.
